One of WAPA’s priority bills, HB 2113 will need to receive a majority vote next week in order to be made into law.
Now is the time to reach out to your State Senator (find your contact info here: https://leg.wa.gov/legislators/) by phone or email. Introduce yourself as a PA working in their district and ask them to support HB 2113 when it comes to the floor for a vote.
There is no ability to sign in electronically, as the vote could be coming at any time. If you call your legislator and their voice mail suggests you call the info center – send an email or leave a voice mail or call back and speak with their Legislative Assistant. We need to be directly in touch with our legislators.
Supervision of Radiologic Technologists (HB 2113)
PAs are sometimes the only provider in rural hospitals and need to be able to order (and supervise) the tests that their patients need. This bill would make Washington law clear (and consistent with federal law) that PAs acting within their scope of practice can supervise radiologic technologists administering IV contrast procedures. The bill has passed the house and will soon have a floor vote in the Senate.
