Committee Meetings
Most committees meet on a monthly basis. Committee meetings will be posted on the WAPA Events Page as they become available.
CME Committee

The CME Committee is responsible for the content of both the WAPA Fall and Spring Conferences. The CME Committee also may work on additional events with accreditation as they arise throughout the year.
DEI (DEBI) Committee
Maria Delzell, Chair
The DEBI Committee serves the following purposes:
- Enhance diversity within the PA profession within Washington state
- Spread awareness through knowledge and talks to local colleges/high schools
- Community outreach events
- Raise awareness of health disparities affecting marginalized populations
- Salary negotiation and job outlook awareness to new PAs
- Inform others of upcoming local diversity events
Legislative Committee
Colleen Mawby, Co Chair
The legislative committee is responsible for advocating for Washington PA’s on a legislative level. This may include drafting bill language, coordinating with WAPA lobbyist(s), educating legislators and the public on PA bills and how laws affect PA practice, promoting the advancement of improved PA practice laws, coordinating with WAPA board and leadership on key areas where legislative action is required, and coordinating with AAPA for legislative advocacy in our state. They will also work with select committees to promote their activities (e.g. assist the marketing committee to create content for education/promotion of legislative actions. Additionally, the legislative committee plans and organizes WAPA’s legislative advocacy “PA Day on the Hill” along with PA leadership and the executive director.
Marketing/Membership Committee

The marketing and membership committee is responsible for membership recruitment, retention and engagement, managing and providing WAPA’s social media activities, and assisting the newsletter team with content for the newsletter. They will also work with select committees to promote their activities (e.g. assist the legislative committee to promote calls for advocacy, PA Day on the Hill).
