Greetings Washington PAs,

I am looking forward to this year with Washington Academy of Physician Associates. We have a great group of leaders, and I want to introduce you to those of us who are working behind the scenes.

We have a new delegate to the Washington State Medical Association, Maggie Walker, PA-C. Thank you Roger Calvert, PA-C for your years of dedication. Maggie is also the WAPA President-Elect.

Bridget Albright, PA-C and Paul Surette, PA-C will be leading our Legislative Committee. Chris Roach, PA-C and Michelle Cardenas, PA-C  are heading the Marketing and Membership Committee. Monica Morrison, PA-C and Laura DesEnfants, PA-C are the masterminds behind our CME committee and WAPA Conferences. Cooper Couch, PA-C, is putting together an ad-hoc Governance Committee this year and we hope to move that into a permanent committee.

We are looking for a new group of PAs to head our DEBI Committee. If you have an interest, reach out to wapa@wapa.com.

Also, Cooper Couch, PA-C, Shellie Rabidou, PA-C, and Justin Thibeault, PA-C are the WAPA representatives to the AAPA House of Delegates. We will be opening nominations in the fall, to fill an additional delegate position that WAPA was granted this year.

We will be continuing with member engagement efforts this year including WAPA meet ups and hopefully more events for PAs and their families to join. We hope to list all of the events available on the website: Events | Washington Academy of Physician Associates

If you are not yet a WAPA member, join here: Membership | Washington Academy of Physician Associates.

Warmly,

Jenna Newcomb Barkhimer, PA-C
President
